British Columbia updates the minimum wage effective from June 2025
British Columbia has increased the minimum wage to $17.85 from the current $17.40. The changes to the minimum hourly wages are set to be effective starting June 2025.

Canada updates visa processing times, grants travel visas for Indians in just 83 days
IRCC recently updated the processing times for tourist visas and PR cards, starting March 18, 2025. As per the latest changes, citizenship applications will now be granted within 9 months, while visitor visas for Indians will be issued within 83 days.

Rachel Bendayan: What Canada’s New Immigration Minister Means for PR, Work Permits & Students
The new Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, has elected Rachel Bendayan as the new Immigration Minister of Canada. The new adjustments in the cabinet are expected to bring new immigration policies, some of which may include:

Canada Removes bonus CRS points for a valid job offer under Express Entry
IRCC has announced that no additional points will be granted to candidates with a valid job offer under the Express Entry system. The new changes will be effective from March 25, 2025. The changes will not apply to candidates with PR applications currently being processed or those who have already received ITAs.

The most recent Manitoba PNP draw was held on March 21, 2025. The EOI Draw #241 issued 108 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to qualifying candidates. The minimum score range for the MPNP draw was 705-844.

Latest Express Entry Draw issues 7,500 ITAs
The Latest Express Entry Draw on March 21, 2025, invited 7,500 French-speaking candidates. The minimum CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate was 379. This is the fourth draw to be held this month.

IRCC held two Canada PNP draws in the third week of March 2025. The latest BC PNP draw on March 18, 2025, issued 13 Entrepreneur Immigration invitations with a minimum score range of 115-123. The PEI PNP draw on March 20 issued 124 Labour & Express Entry Invitations.

Canada eases post-grad work visa rules, removes field-of-study requirement
Canada has eased the PGWP rules, removing the field-of-study requirement for students enrolled in college degree programs. International students graduating from Canadian universities or colleges can qualify for the PGWP if they meet the language proficiency requirements.

New Brunswick opens intake for two enhanced PNP pathways to Canada Permanent Residency
Newcomers can now submit their EOIs (Expressions of Interest) to the New Brunswick PNP. The NB PNP will accept the application intakes for the Employment in New Brunswick pathway and the New Brunswick Interests pathway under the NB skilled worker stream. The first intake will start on March 5, 2025.
